When it comes to Apple and BMW, most news hasn’t revolved around the idea that the auto manufacturer will support Apple CarPlay, but that’s finally changing.

The recent publication of price listings for BMW’s upcoming X5 M and X6 M indicate that the company has plans to support CarPlay in both models when they launch later this year. The price listings were later shared via a forum posting, along with details regarding features potential owners should expect to find in their new vehicle.

The price points are said to go into effect on August 1, and also detail that Apple CarPlay support will begin in the second half of 2016. That could mean the vehicles will support the feature right out of the gate, or that it could land in the vehicles at some point later through a software update.

The upcoming X5 M and X6 M will feature a 10.5-inch touchscreen dash display. The price listing does also indicate something interesting: Wireless support. As noted by 9to5Mac, this could be a translation issue, and the pricing sheet could just be indicating support for Bluetooth connection, but it does indeed say wireless support is a feature, as the translation reads “…wireless and convenient use of the iPhone in your vehicle via Apple carplay… *Expected to be available in the 2nd half 2016.”

That wouldn’t be entirely impossible, of course. CarPlay does support wireless support, as the feature launched with iOS 9. Volkswagen said back in January of this year that Apple actually stopped the manufacturer from showing off wireless CarPlay support at this year’s CES.

Right now, the majority of vehicles that support Apple CarPlay need to have the iPhone connected to function at all.

BMW’s brand hasn’t been completely out of the Apple bubble of news, especially when it comes to automotive, even if CarPlay hasn’t been on the table. It’s been rumored quite a bit that Apple has been in talks with BMW for quite some time to help bring the Apple Car, codenamed Project Titan, to life. Those talks were reported as falling through last year, and so have talks with Daimler. It’s also been reported that Apple could use BMW’s i3 as the basis for their upcoming Apple Car.

Have you tried out Apple CarPlay yet?
