Apple Pay sees a pretty regular update to its support from banks and credit unions, but the other half of the mobile payment option being adopted is businesses and restaurants.

Kentucky Fried Chicken, or KFC, has officially announced that beginning today it has started rolling out support for mobile payment options within its stores across the United States. The restaurants will now support not only Apple Pay, but also Android Pay and Samsung Pay. The large chain restaurant confirmed that customers will be able to use their mobile device at registers inside the restaurant, and also at the drive-thru window.

KFC says support is available at some restaurants right now, and that support will be available at all of its restaurants in the United States by the end of the summer.

“Kentucky Fried Chicken® announced today the adoption of mobile pay in U.S. restaurants, allowing customers to pay in seconds for their real meal hand-prepared in every KFC® restaurant. The new system is compatible with Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay and is available in some restaurants beginning now, with system-wide adoption completed by the end of the summer.”

Apple Pay continues to see wide adoption, and KFC jumping on board is a good sign for the mobile payment option from the Cupertino-based company. Of course, with big holdouts like Walmart (especially with the big box retailer launching its own mobile payment option) out there, there are certainly still hurdles to overcome.

How often do you use Apple Pay?
