GarageBand has been updated to support other Apple products, as well as even more musical loops.
Apple has officially updated GarageBand to version 10.1.1. With it, the software now supports Apple’s Music Memos, as well as Logic Remote. The update itself primarily focuses on new features and bringing the Mac version up to snuff with the iOS variant, which was updated in January. With that, the new GarageBand for Mac also supports 2,600 new Apple Loops and sounds.
That includes the addition of Live Loops: The biggest aspect of GarageBand’s update, though, is something that Apple calls Live Loops. According to Apple, this was inspired by DJ hardware controllers and drum machines, and it allows users to create music by simply tapping on cells, or playing a column of cells that are presented in a grid.
The update also offers more reliability when downloading new content, among other behind-the-scenes tweaks and enhancements.
GarageBand for Mac can be downloaded from the Mac App Store now.
